Video Editing
About our Post-Production services
It’s one thing to capture high quality video footage. It’s another to turn it into something that people actually want to watch. This is where the expert video editors at Nucentury come in.
For most of our clients, our team works as one unit to capture impressive video content and deliver it perfectly to your brief. The process is seamless; typically within a few days of your video shoot you’ll be presented with a first cut of your video to review. We’ll then work with you through to completion, implementing your feedback and making sure you’re happy with the end result.
We can also take footage that you’ve captured yourself on your smartphone, on a consumer camera, or even use footage that you’ve had filmed by another video production company and turn it into something that not only you’d be proud of, but something that we’d be proud of too.
Because no video is the same, we charge for our editing services based on the time needed to complete the work. We have hourly and daily rates, and we will always provide an estimate for your project up front – once we know how much work is needed, that is.
Looking for post-production services that will make your next video stand out? Let us know what you need and we’ll give you a price for making it happen.
From colour grading to audio mastering, the vast majority of the work we do in post-production won’t be noticeable to the average viewer.
Our editors are experts in their craft and work tirelessly to make sure that nobody is thinking about the effort they’ve put into creating your video.
We have a variety of visual displays that we use for testing and previewing your videos, we have studio-grade audio monitors for picking out and fixing any sound issues, and the edit suite is large enough for clients to come in and review videos, individually or as a group.
The coffee is also pretty good too, or so we’re told!
All of our editing systems are designed to “fly away”, meaning that we can quickly pack them up and take them on the road with us, no matter the situation.
We’ve also provided on-location editing of “B Roll” packages for news broadcasters, and on-site edits for PR and marketing campaigns with tight deadlines.
Additionally, we can also provide on-site video mixing and live streaming through our live streaming services.
Animation
Animation is a popular video production technique for illustrating concepts and ideas, and for displaying information visually on screen
Our animators can work with you to bring your ideas to life. From scripting to delivery, we have the expertise to make your next animation project a success.
The most common types of animations we’re asked to create are computer generated 2D and 3D animations, although we have experience with stop-motion animation too.
To find out how we can help you with your animation needs, please get in touch.
2D Animation
2D animation is an affordable and popular animation style.
Animations in this style will often have a cartoonish appearance and the animated graphics will usually represent real-world objects in slightly abstract ways.
One of the biggest strengths of 2D animation is that it can borrow elements from existing graphic design, such as the graphics on your website or in your brochure, ensuring brand consistency.
3D Animation
3D animation is typically used to simulate real-world objects, such as products, structures and locations.
In many ways 3D animation is like coding, requiring lots of mathematics and digital modelling to tell the story. This is often very time consuming to pull together but the results can be outstanding.
In our experience, 3D animation is ideal for illustrating products and other objects that may be too expensive or impractical to film in the real world.
Motion Graphics
Based on 2D animation techniques, motion graphics allow us to improve the creative impact of your video.
With motion graphics we can display your live-action video content in new ways or add additional context through text and iconography.
Video Titling
Whether we’re adding an on-screen title for an interviewee or including a company logo at the start and end of a video, we often use subtle pieces of animation to complement video footage.
A little bit of animation goes a long way towards boosting the overall quality of your project.
VISUAL EFFECTS, MOTION GRAPHICS & ANIMATION
There’s usually confusion among these terms: visual effects, motion graphics and animation. Visual effects (VFX) combines existing footage with computer-generated imagery (CGI) to create scenes that look realistic. These scenes would be dangerous, expensive, time consuming or impossible to capture on film. Motion graphics is animated graphic design, which creates the illusion of motion. In simple words, motion graphics is graphics in movement, where the text is a major component. Animation is a visual sequence of multiple sequential images that generate the illusion of movement. A fine example of animation is a Disney animated movie, but also a narrative short film or informational video with animated characters telling a story. We film in chroma key studios, also called green screen or blue screen studios collaborating with a variety of visual effects artists, motion graphics specialists and talented animators.
